Blogging Advent - Tuesday 19th
Hmmm...
Today we were supposed to read The Not-So-Wise Man... I think I've mentioned that when I chose the books I just used the catalogue? The catalogue that contains all the books we were able to scan, but that I am still going through to add in other information, like the books that won't scan, or the location of books (I may not have mentioned that bit)? When I went looking for the books, I pulled out all the Christmas books I could find. I assumed that would include all the books in the catalogue.
Last night I pulled out the books I had to put today's book in the Christmas reading box (still to be covered with wrapping paper). It wasn't there... So instead, I put Hettie's Christmas Gift in the box.
And today we didn't read it:-(
We pegged the stars onto a piece of string, now I just have to work out where to put it.
We started making the peppermint creams. We juiced 3 lemons, separated the egg, measured out the icing sugar, added the egg-white and poured in the peppermint essence... Only to find that the bottle of peppermint essence had dried up! Mum came by and dropped some off, but by then it was time to leave. So now we have a bowl of rather liquid peppermint creams in the fridge. Tomorrow we'll add a bit more icing sugar and roll it out and cut it. And read the book. And...
I'm thinking I should stop doing anything new. Tomorrow is supposed to be more cooking, but maybe I should make it to read another book, and instead use the time to catch up on the other cooking we haven't yet finished... Otherwise Christmas (or rather, Boxing Day) will be here and we'll have a pile of ingredients and raw biscuit dough, but nothing finished:-(
